Benchmarking and analysis of materials and manufacturing technologies used in engines of the world’s latest automobiles

Modern engines benefit from new coatings and manufacturing methods that are among the reasons for better performance and fuel economy of modern vehicles. To advance the capabilities of domestic engines, some of the world’s well-known engines are analyzed in JETCO’s materials technologies and manufacturing methods group regarding their materials, coatings, and manufacturing technologies. After extensive engineering analyses and identification of their design philosophies, comprehensive reports are generated that are valuable in fashioning Iran’s engine manufacturing industry. Diamond-like carbon (DLC) coatings, lost-foam casting, sodium-filled valves, and diamond and cubic boron nitride (CBN) abrasives are among the modern technologies in engine design that are being studied.
